About Of Mercer

Of Mercer is an e-commerce brand with a catalog of hundreds of SKUs. They needed a fast, scalable online store that could support complex product filtering and high-volume traffic. With a focus on professional womenswear, the company required a seamless shopping experience that made it easy for customers to browse, discover, and purchase from an expansive inventory. I was brought on to lead Shopify development and provide long-term maintenance support.

During the project, I overhauled Of Mercer’s existing Shopify theme, customizing templates with Liquid and building new components to improve both usability and performance. To streamline navigation across the site, I implemented advanced AJAX filtering and dynamic add-to-cart functionality—allowing users to explore collections and update their cart without full page reloads. Custom JavaScript was also used to create tabbed product details, interactive modals, and carousel sliders, all tailored to the client’s brand aesthetic.

In addition to development, I provided ongoing technical maintenance to keep the store running smoothly. This included Shopify version updates, code refactoring, and monthly performance audits. I ensured the storefront remained optimized for both desktop and mobile, while minimizing reliance on third-party apps. Custom logic was used to display variants, control inventory-based messaging, and improve metafield-driven content on product pages.

The end result was a faster, more intuitive site that enhanced customer experience and supported continued catalog growth. Of Mercer saw improved engagement across key pages, a reduction in user friction from browsing to checkout, and fewer support tickets related to navigation or product selection. The tailored Shopify setup positioned the brand for scalable, long-term success.

Kegan is awesome to work with – can’t say enough positive things about him.
