About Ladyship

The We Are Ladyship website was rebuilt from the ground up to replace a restrictive Squarespace implementation with a more flexible, performant, and scalable solution. The primary goal was to faithfully recreate the existing design while significantly improving the underlying structure and performance of the site. The original build relied heavily on template constraints, which limited customization, introduced unnecessary frontend bloat, and made it difficult to scale content or implement more advanced layouts.

The rebuild focused on creating a clean, component-based architecture that preserved the visual identity of the brand while modernizing the codebase. Content was restructured into modular, reusable components, allowing for a much more flexible and intuitive editing experience. Performance was a major priority throughout the project, with optimizations including reduced JavaScript usage, improved image handling, and more efficient asset loading to enhance overall speed and stability across devices.

The result is a significantly faster, more maintainable website that provides a better experience for both users and content editors. In addition to performance improvements, the new build establishes a strong technical SEO foundation through clean markup, proper content structure, and full control over metadata. By moving away from a closed platform, the site is now positioned for long-term growth, with the flexibility to evolve alongside the brand without the limitations of a templated system.
